Making Your Home More Cozy With Indoor Water Features

The inside of your home requires lots of attention to details to make it feel cozy. When decorating, you consider everything from the size and shape of objects to the materials, to the arrangement of your furniture. It can be a difficult and tedious process, but it is ultimately rewarding once you put everything in the right place. Something to consider when putting the finishing touches on a space in your home are indoor water fountains.

Indoor water fountains, sometimes called indoor water features, are a great addition to any room. There a multiple benefits to the beautiful aesthetic and the sound of running water that is added to a room when you put in an indoor water feature. If you like swimming or understand how calmly you feel laying beside the beach, a water feature can create that same serene mindset with much less cost than a vacation or the installation of a pool.

Another benefit of indoor water features is that many serve as a natural humidifier. Regular humidifiers use standing water that can cause mold and mildew, but moving water doesn’t have the same effect. One reason you see water features in rooms like ‘garden rooms’ or ‘patios’ is because it is not only a pleasing addition to the room’s decor, but because it is healthy for the plants. Greenery gets more moisture from the air in a room with a water feature.

Many interior decorates have recommended indoor water fountains to me for spaces that I wanted to be calming areas. The sound of water is known to be relaxing–trickling or flowing creates a balance between the stark silence of a house and the noise of a television or loud music.

You can be creative with indoor water features, as well. A friend of mine has used a water feature and used chemical-free cleaners in the water, and lets her pets drink from it. The soothing sound of water can have multiple purposes and I have never seen it not be enjoyed by any decorator.
